Special Campaign Against Drug Addicts in Balrampur, Border Security Tightened

Special Enforcement Campaign Launched

The administration in Balrampur district has decided to launch a special enforcement campaign with the objective of completely stopping the trafficking, sale, and consumption of illegal liquor and other narcotic substances. This decision was taken during an important Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) meeting chaired by District Magistrate Dr. Vipin Kumar Jain.

Enhanced Coordination and Intelligence Gathering

The District Magistrate emphasized the necessity of intensive coordination among relevant departments to effectively curb the illegal trade of narcotics. He instructed to strengthen the local intelligence network and take swift and strict action based on confidential information received.

Crackdown on Illegal Liquor Trade

During the meeting, the Excise and Police departments were specifically directed to jointly conduct a thorough campaign against the manufacturing, storage, transportation, and sale of illegal liquor. All individuals found involved in these illegal activities will be identified, and the strictest legal proceedings will be initiated against them as per the law.

Raising Public Awareness

The District Magistrate stressed that the prevention of narcotics should not be limited to enforcement actions alone; widespread awareness campaigns within society are also imperative. The ultimate goal of the administration is to make the district completely drug-free, employing a dual approach of enforcement and public awareness.

Heightened Vigilance at International Border

Considering the sensitivity of the international border with Nepal, special vigilance instructions have been issued for the border areas. The District Magistrate stated that a strong and smooth coordination must be established among the police, excise department, and other security agencies to effectively prevent the illegal transportation of narcotics from border areas.

Monitoring Suspect Activities

He directed that close watch will be maintained on any suspicious activity in the border region, and immediate action will be ensured upon receiving any information. Any individual found involved in the drug trade will be dealt with very sternly.

Initiative to Protect Youth from Drugs

In a significant step to protect the district's youth from the ill effects of drugs, special drug de-addiction awareness programs will be conducted in all schools and educational institutions. The primary objective of these programs will be to sensitize students about the serious adverse effects of narcotic substance abuse on their health, education, and social lives.

Promoting Healthy Lifestyles

Through various interactive sessions, workshops, and other creative activities, students will be motivated to adopt a healthy and drug-free lifestyle. The progress of this campaign will be reviewed at a high level in the coming days to establish effective control over illegal activities.

Key Officials in Attendance

The meeting was attended by the Additional District Magistrate (Finance and Revenue), Additional Superintendent of Police, and other senior officials from relevant departments. The District Magistrate instructed all present officials to maintain regular surveillance within their respective jurisdictions.
