Campaign Launched to Curb Stubble Burning in Guna
The Guna district administration has initiated a special campaign to curb stubbing burning incidents in the district's fields. On Monday, Collector Kishore Kumar Kanyal flagged off a 'Narwai Management Rath' from the Collectorate premises.
This specialized vehicle will travel to various villages across the district to educate farmers about the severe detrimental effects of stubble burning. Operated by the Assistant Agricultural Engineering Office, the Rath will highlight how burning stubble not only reduces soil fertility but also contributes to air pollution.
Furthermore, the process destroys beneficial insects and microorganisms crucial for soil health. The campaign aims to emphasize the use of advanced agricultural machinery that can manage stubble effectively within the fields, thus preserving soil fertility and preventing environmental damage.
Promoting Advanced Agricultural Machinery
Through the Narwai Management Rath, farmers will be encouraged to adopt modern agricultural implements. These include machinery such as Super Seeders, Happy Seeders, Mulchers, Harvesters with Straw Management Systems, and Balers.
The use of these machines allows stubble to be managed directly on the farm, thereby maintaining soil fertility and avoiding harm to the environment. The initiative is a significant step towards safeguarding agricultural land health and reducing environmental pollution.
Present at the launch were Deputy Director Agriculture Sanjeev Sharma, Deputy Director Horticulture KPS Kirar, and other senior officials and staff. The district administration has appealed to farmers to refrain from burning stubble and to protect soil quality and biodiversity from long-term damage.
