Speculation around Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music director Palash Muchhal has been confirmed, with Muchhal publicly announcing that Mandhana will soon become his wife. Speaking at a press event at the State Press Club in Indore, the 30-year-old composer and filmmaker said with a smile, “She will soon become the daughter-in-law of Indore… that’s all I want to say.” This marks the first official acknowledgment from either party following months of media conjecture.
Mandhana and Muchhal have frequently been spotted together in social media posts, fueling rumors about their relationship, but neither had confirmed it publicly until now. Muchhal added lightheartedly, “I’ve given you the headline,” leaving no doubt about the couple’s upcoming nuptials.
Support for the Indian Women’s Cricket Team
At the same event, Muchhal extended his best wishes to the Indian women’s cricket team ahead of their ICC Women’s World Cup ODI clash against England at Holkar Stadium, Indore. Mandhana, who serves as vice-captain and opening batter, is currently in the city preparing for the crucial match. With Australia and South Africa already securing semifinal spots, India’s hopes for progressing depend on a strong performance. Muchhal said, “My best wishes are with Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti. We always want the Indian cricket team to win every match and bring glory to the country.”
