ISO Certification for Barwani Police Stations and SP Office
In a significant achievement for Madhya Pradesh Police, emphasizing quality, transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement, Barwani Police has been awarded ISO certification. This recognition is for meeting international quality standards at five police stations and the Superintendent of Police (SP) office within the district.
This certification is considered a crucial step towards making policing more citizen-centric, transparent, and accountable. The ISO certificates were presented to Superintendent of Police Barwani, Shri Padmavilochan Shukla, by the institution's advisor, Shri S.K. Vidyarthi, in the presence of DIG Nimar Range, Ms. Simala Prasad. Several senior police officers and staff were also present at the ceremony.
Work Processes Evaluated Against International Standards
The ISO certification process involved a thorough inspection and evaluation of the respective police stations and the SP office. This assessment rigorously tested various parameters such as the systematic maintenance of records, monitoring of duties, ensuring accountability, effective adherence to established procedures, quality of citizen services, and continuous improvement in police operations.
During the inspection, attention was also paid to the facilities available to citizens in police offices and stations, as well as special arrangements made for vulnerable sections of society. Initiatives like the 'Mahila Urja Kendra' (Women's Energy Center), 'Bal Mitra Kaksh' (Child-Friendly Room), and 'Vatsalya Kaksh' (Affection Room) were specifically noted.
Innovative Initiatives for Positive and Humane Policing
The ISO certification process also gave special importance to the innovations undertaken by Barwani Police to foster a positive and humane environment within police stations. The walls of the lock-ups in all the district's police stations have been adorned with special artwork featuring inspirational stories, positive messages, and cartoons.
The aim of this unique initiative is to encourage introspection, positive thinking, and ethical values among individuals in custody. Furthermore, this effort seeks to motivate them towards a better and more positive life, steering them away from crime. This innovation exemplifies a commitment to promoting a corrective and humane approach in policing, extending beyond mere law enforcement.
Barwani Police Units Awarded ISO Certification
The ISO certification has been awarded to the following units in Barwani district: the Superintendent of Police Office Barwani, Thana Kotwali, Thana Silavad, Thana Sendhwa City, Thana Sendhwa Rural, and Thana Rajpur.
