Six Cattle Die at Jawad Cowshed: Administrative Negligence or Political Conspiracy?

Tragic Demise of Cattle at Jawad Cowshed

An extremely serious and heartbreaking incident has emerged from the 'Shri Kabir Math Cowshed' in Jawad, Madhya Pradesh, operated by the Nagar Parishad. In the past week alone, six cattle have met a tragic end. This incident has not only ignited deep anger among local citizens and social activists but has also intensified the political discourse.

While the ruling party makes grand claims about cow protection, the alleged insensitivity of the responsible authorities has endangered the lives of these voiceless animals. The deaths of six cattle have been confirmed over the last seven days. Four cows died in the recent five days, and the demise of two more cows yesterday has further amplified the gravity of the situation.

Citizens allege that these deaths occurred due to a lack of fodder and water, coupled with a lack of proper management, clearly pointing towards administrative negligence. This situation has led to widespread concern and demands for accountability.

Grand Inauguration and 'Ghar-Ghar Roti' Campaign: The Reality

The Kabir Math Cowshed was inaugurated with great fanfare on October 3, 2022. The inauguration plaque bears the names of several prominent leaders, including the then-Cabinet Minister and current MLA Omprakash Saklecha, MP Sudhir Gupta, District Panchayat President Sajjan Singh Chauhan, then-BJP District President Pawan Patidar, Janpad President Gopal Charan, and Nagar Parishad President Sohanlal Mali.

On this occasion, Nagar Parishad President Sohan Mali had launched the 'Ghar-Ghar Roti' (Bread for Every Home) campaign, aimed at collecting food for the cows. Although the campaign initially received good support and garnered media attention, it fizzled out within days, leaving the cattle to fend for themselves.

Congress's Sharp Attack: 'This is Administrative Murder'

On this sensitive issue, senior Congress leader from the Jawad assembly constituency, Prakash Raka, expressed deep sorrow and launched a strong attack on the ruling party and administration. He described the incident as 'direct murders due to administrative negligence and cruelty.'

Prakash Raka questioned why, when the government sanctions hefty budgets in the name of cow service, the cows at Kabir Math Cowshed are left to thirst for fodder and water. He accused the government of misappropriating funds and asked where this money is actually going.

Administration's Assurance: Transparent Investigation and Action Against Culprits

Considering the seriousness of the matter, Jawad's Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Sanjeev Sahu, has taken immediate action. SDM Sahu clarified that the administration is prioritizing the safety of the cattle.

He has directed the veterinary department team to conduct a thorough investigation and medical examination. Sahu stated that the actual cause of the cows' deaths will become clear only after the detailed medical report is received. He assured a fair and transparent investigation and said that if any negligence is found on the part of the management at any level, strict punitive action will be taken against the culprits.

His primary objective is to provide a safe and healthy environment for all cattle at the cowshed.

Nagar Parishad President's Defense: 'Cow Service is My Vow, No Shortage of Supplies'

Meanwhile, Nagar Parishad President Sohan Mali has outright rejected the opposition's accusations and expressed his unwavering commitment to cow service. He stated that there is no shortage of essential supplies for the care and service of cows at the cowshed, such as fodder, water, and nutritional supplements.

According to Mali, some cows died due to natural or severe illnesses, and the opposition is politicizing the issue and spreading misinformation. He emphasized that selfless service to 'Gau Mata' (Mother Cow) is his primary goal and vow, and he is striving to provide better medical assistance to every cattle member.
