Shruti Haasan Spooked by ‘Monster: The Ed Gein Story,’ Vows to Avoid Weird Dates

Actress Shruti Haasan shared her reaction to the biographical crime drama anthology Monster: The Ed Gein Story on Instagram, admitting that the series left her too unsettled. Sharing the poster, she wrote: “Ok so...No eating no sleeping. Also turning veg for a week. Never going on a date with someone who's slightly weird. Even. Yeah just NO.”

The series explores the life of notorious serial killer Ed Gein, played by Charlie Hunnam, who was infamous for exhuming corpses and creating keepsakes from their bones and skin in 1957 Plainfield, Wisconsin. Other key characters include Gein’s mother Augusta (Laurie Metcalf), director Alfred Hitchcock (Tom Hollander), and Hitchcock’s wife Alma Reville (Olivia Williams). Gein was ultimately found legally insane and confined to a psychiatric institution.

Shruti, last seen in Coolie, will next appear in Salaar Part 2: Shouryanga Parvam, the sequel to the 2023 neo-noir action thriller Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, directed by Prashanth Neel. The film stars Prabhas alongside Shruti and an ensemble cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, and others.
