Balrampur District celebrated the festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami with immense devotion and gaiety on September 5, 2026. The famous Shaktipeeth Devi Patan's Jharkhandi Temple, along with other temples in the district, hosted bhajan-kirtan programs that continued late into the night.
Thousands of devotees participated in the festivities, immersing the temple premises in a devotional atmosphere until the late hours. This year's Janmashtami was celebrated with particular enthusiasm, as devotees gathered in large numbers to commemorate Lord Krishna's birth, showcasing their faith and devotion.
The temples were beautifully decorated, and the air was filled with the melodious tunes of devotional music. On the occasion of Janmashtami, Municipal Chairman Dr. Dheerendra Pratap Singh Dhiru performed prayers to Shri Radharani at the Jharkhandi Temple. Similarly, BJP leader Vinay Kumar Mishra participated in the Janmashtami celebrations and offered prayers at the Mohandas Baba Temple in Laliya.
Artists and Devotees Mesmerized by Devotional Performances
Devotees were seen swaying to the devotional bhajans presented by artists, dedicated to Lord Krishna. Women, children, and men encouraged the artists by clapping, filling the entire temple complex with chants of 'Jai Shri Radhe-Jai Shri Krishna'. The bhajan evenings featured a blend of traditional songs and new compositions, captivating the devotees.
Young artists, dressed as Radha and Krishna, presented enchanting performances that moved the devotees to tears. The children's attractive costumes and presentations charmed everyone, further amplifying the joy of Janmashtami. The temple premises were packed with a large number of devotees who showered their affection and enthusiasm upon these young performers.

The district witnessed grand celebrations for Lord Krishna's birthday. Tulsipur MLA Kailash Nath Shukla visited various programs in the area, offering greetings to devotees and highlighting the significance of Janmashtami. Likewise, Sadar MLA Paltu Ram extended his wishes to the residents and participated in several celebratory events.
The presence of public representatives added to the solemnity of the festival as they joined the common public in enjoying the occasion.
