Seven State Police Service Officers Honored with IPS Ranks

MP Police Officers Elevated to IPS Cadre

Seven deserving officers from the Madhya Pradesh Police Service have been elevated to the rank of Indian Police Service (IPS). The distinguished ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Police Headquarters in Bhopal.

Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Kailash Makwana personally conferred the IPS ranks upon these officers. This significant promotion is in accordance with the 'Selection List-2025' as per the notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

DGP Congratulates Promoted Officers

Extending his heartfelt congratulations to all the newly promoted officers, DGP Shri Makwana stated that this achievement is a testament to their years of dedicated and loyal service. He highlighted their crucial role in maintaining law and order within the state.

"These officers have played a significant role in maintaining law and order in the state. I am confident that they will continue to contribute to the state's progress and order with their leadership abilities in the future," DGP Shri Makwana remarked.

The DGP also emphasized the importance of exemplary conduct, stating that officers' behavior should serve as an inspiration to other personnel.

A Milestone Achievement for Officers

This transition from the State Police Service to the IPS cadre marks a significant milestone for these seven officers, who have been allocated the Madhya Pradesh cadre. The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, had appointed these officers on probation to the Indian Police Service through an official notification released on July 17, 2026.

The officers who have been bestowed with the IPS ranks are: Smt. Nimisha Pandey, Shri Malay Jain, Shri Amit Saxena, Smt. Manisha Pathak Soni, Smt. Suman Gurjar, Shri Sabyasachi Saraf, and Shri Samar Verma.

Government Commitment to Merit-Based Promotions

The DGP reiterated the government's commitment to providing timely opportunities to deserving officers, emphasizing that this has always been a priority. It is in adherence to this principle that these outstanding officers of the Madhya Pradesh Police have been inducted into the Indian Police Service.

These officers will successfully complete a one-year probation period and undergo the prescribed induction training, in accordance with the provisions of the Indian Police Service (Probation) Rules, 1954.
