‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ Launched from Tikamgarh; PM Modi Expresses Joy Over 25-Year Journey
The grand inauguration of the ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ took place in the Tikamgarh district of Madhya Pradesh on October 7, 2026. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the public live from Delhi, shared his 25-year constitutional journey, describing the yatra not just as an event but as his 'dedication' to the nation. The ceremony was attended by local representatives and a large number of citizens at the Donga Agricultural Market.
During his address, the Prime Minister highlighted the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ (Together with all, Development for all) as the cornerstone of good governance. He expressed optimism about India's future, stating that the country is moving strongly towards self-reliance and that India's 'awakening' is certain.
Objective of the Yatra
The 'Seva Jyoti Yatra' was flagged off for all 16 mandals across three assembly constituencies in Tikamgarh district – Jatara, Khargapur, and Tikamgarh. The primary aim of this initiative is to disseminate information about the ambitious public welfare schemes of the central and state governments to every village and household.
Through special vehicles, party workers will undertake the task of taking the government's achievements and schemes to the masses. Prominent dignitaries present at the event included Bharatiya Janata Party's District Organization In-charge Pushpendranath Pathak, MLA Harishankar Khatiq, and District President Mrs. Saroj Rajput.
Reaching the Disadvantaged
MLA Harishankar Khatiq remarked that under the Prime Minister's leadership, the poor and disadvantaged sections of society have been integrated into the mainstream of development. This sentiment underscores the inclusive nature of the government's initiatives being promoted by the yatra.
Historic Program Concludes
The program commenced with the singing of 'Vande Mataram' and the lighting of a ceremonial lamp, creating a dignified atmosphere. Cultural performances captivated the attendees, and the historic event concluded with the national anthem. A large number of party workers, journalists, and the general public were present to witness this significant occasion.
