"The recovery in gold prices today, breaking a brief phase of sharp correction, reflects the resilience of the yellow metal as a safe-haven asset...the rebound in yellow metal signals renewed investors' confidence amid the ongoing global uncertainty."

 

He further added that investors are cautiously buying gold as a hedge against geopolitical risks.

Key Stock Movements

MM Forgings' board approved fundraising of up to ₹600 crore via QIP. The stock was trading at ₹422.55, up 1.60%.

UBS downgraded Cipla to 'neutral' with a target price of ₹1,400. Cipla was trading at ₹1,240.20, up 1.71%.

S&P Upgrades India's Growth Forecast

S&P Global Ratings increased India's FY27 GDP growth forecast to 7.1%. However, escalating geopolitical tensions remain a downside risk.

The upgrade reflects the strength of domestic demand. Resilient private consumption, gradual recovery in private investment and steady export performance are expected to support growth.

Smallcap and PSU Bank Gains

PCBL Chemical was the top gainer in the Nifty 500, rising nearly 13%. Likhitha Infrastructure's share price jumped 15.08%.

The Nifty PSU Bank index surged nearly 3%, with Bank of Maharashtra, Indian Bank, and Union Bank of India among the top performers. Bank of Maharashtra was up 4.01%, Indian Bank gained 3.74% and Union Bank rose 3.51%.

Other Notable Updates

HSBC cut the target price of Eternal by 14% and Swiggy by 21%, citing concerns about AI and competitive intensity.

Bosch Home Comfort appointed Rishi Mehta as CFO, effective April 1. The stock was up 2.27%.
