Security Bolstered in Delhi: 20 Additional CRPF Companies will Arrive from Bengal

Security Strengthened in the National Capital

The Union Home Ministry has taken a significant step to fortify the law and order situation in the national capital, New Delhi. Twenty additional companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have been dispatched from West Bengal to Delhi with immediate effect. Each company comprises approximately 100 personnel, bringing about 2,000 additional security personnel to bolster the capital's security apparatus.

These CRPF companies are being airlifted from Kolkata to Delhi via special aircraft. Their deployment will primarily focus on the Parliament House, various central ministries, important government installations, major intersections, and areas anticipated for protests. The objective of this measure is to effectively manage any untoward incidents and maintain peace.

Tight Security Amidst Parliament Session and Protests

In recent days, Delhi has witnessed incidents such as violent clashes, stone-pelting, and damage to public property during protests by various political parties and organizations. Considering these events, the central government has decided to deploy additional central forces.

Security agencies believe that the presence of extra security forces is crucial, especially given the likelihood of increased protests during the upcoming Parliament session. According to sources, these CRPF companies were initially deployed in West Bengal in view of the state's assembly elections. After completing their election-related duties, they are now being transferred to Delhi.

Enhanced Security Apparatus for the Capital

Prior to this deployment, 30 companies of the CRPF and detachments of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) were already stationed in the capital to assist the Delhi Police. The arrival of the 20 new companies will further strengthen Delhi's security framework, increasing surveillance capabilities in sensitive areas.

The Home Ministry and security agencies have clarified that the primary aim of deploying additional forces is to ensure complete peace, restore law and order, and guarantee the safety of citizens in the capital. The police and central forces are fully prepared to handle any emergency situation.
