Second Qualifying Stage of State Yoga Competition Held in Indore

Indore, September 6, 2026 - The second qualifying phase of the state-level 'Lakshya Manthan Yoga Asana Competition,' aimed at promoting yoga, health, and social consciousness, concluded today, September 06, at St. Arnold Higher Secondary School, Scheme No. 74, Vijay Nagar, Indore.

This competition is being organized by the Lakshya Paryavaran evam Water Solution Welfare Society under the patronage and guidance of the Yoga Commission, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Over 100 yoga practitioners from across the state showcased their talent in various age groups and categories during this second phase.

Participants presented rhythmic yoga asanas to music, both individually and in pairs. The focus was on the purity of asanas, physical balance, technique, presentation style, and coordination with music, as judged by an experienced national-level jury.

Inauguration Ceremony and Dignitary Presence

The inauguration ceremony was a grand affair, attended by distinguished personalities from administrative, academic, and sports sectors. Chief guests included Padma Shri Bhalu Mundhe, Chancellor of Renaissance University CA Swapnil Kothari, Deputy Commissioner GST Shri Kumar Abhishek Khare, President of the High Court Bar Association Shri Manish Yadav, Shri Elmar Jadhav, and Shri Manoj Garg.

The guests lit the ceremonial lamp to commence the event and encouraged participants, emphasizing yoga's importance as an integral part of a healthy lifestyle, discipline, and mental balance.

Competition Structure and Objectives

Dr. Pramod Nandwal, President of Lakshya Paryavaran evam Water Solution Welfare Society, stated that the organization is committed to promoting a healthy and stress-free lifestyle alongside environmental and water conservation. This yoga asana competition is being held in three phases to provide a strong platform for youth.

The first phase was successfully completed last Sunday, and the second qualifying phase was held today. Preparations for the final round are underway.

Final Round Preparations Underway

The top performers from the second qualifying phase will be selected for the grand final round, scheduled to take place on September 12 at the Basketball Complex, Indore. The finals will see the best yoga practitioners from across the state competing fiercely.

Today's competition saw participation from various schools, yoga colleges, training centers, institutions, and individual yoga practitioners from the state.

Individual and Pair Performance Competition Details

In the first stage of the individual and pair performance competition, categories for boys and girls aged 14 to 20 years were held. In individual events, participants performed a specific sequence of prescribed yoga asanas, including difficult poses within a set timeframe.

The pair competition mesmerized the audience as both participants demonstrated perfect synchronization, uniform pace, and excellent physical balance to the rhythm of the music. Coordination and concentration between the two participants were crucial in this performance.

Evaluation Process and Safety Standards

The competition was officiated by a national-level certified and experienced jury. Judges evaluated participants based on various parameters such as purity of asanas, flexibility, physical balance, technique, presentation style, and coordination with music.

Strict adherence to sports rules and safety standards was ensured throughout the event, maintaining a safe and fair environment for all participants.

Organizing Committee and Future Plans

At the conclusion of the ceremony, senior members of the organizing committee, Dr. Hemant Sharma, Shri Anil Agarwal, Ms. Raunak Soni, Shri Prem Dua, Shri Manoj Verma, and Shri Chandrashekhar Tiwari, lauded the exceptional performances of the participants.

They extended their best wishes to all selected participants for the final round on September 12. This competition is expected to not only promote yoga but also play a significant role in raising health awareness among the younger generation.
