Sanskrit Study Centre to Open at NITTTR Bhopal

In a significant stride towards merging traditional Indian knowledge systems with modern technical education, the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR) in Bhopal is set to establish a dedicated Sanskrit Study Centre. This initiative aims to weave the rich tapestry of Bhartiya Gyan Parampara into the fabric of teacher training, research, and innovation.

The Central Sanskrit University has formally approved the proposal to set up the centre at NITTTR Bhopal and has committed to providing the necessary faculty. This development marks a new dimension for the integration of Sanskrit studies within a prominent technical teacher training institution.

Bridging Tradition and Technology

The establishment of the Sanskrit Study Centre at NITTTR Bhopal is seen as a crucial step in aligning technical education with India's deep-rooted intellectual heritage. Prof. C.C. Tripathi, Director of NITTTR Bhopal, expressed enthusiasm, highlighting that the centre will transcend a mere academic department. This move directly supports the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which strongly advocates for the preservation and propagation of India's indigenous knowledge traditions. The Sanskrit Study Centre is expected to play a pivotal role in familiarizing students with the Sanskrit language itself, alongside the foundational texts of Bhartiya Gyan Parampara. Prof. P.K. Purohit, Head of the Department of Bhartiya Gyan Parampara, emphasized that the centre will be instrumental in advancing research, translation efforts, and manuscript studies.
