Brutal Murder Shocks East Delhi

In a deeply disturbing incident in the Kalyanpuri area of East Delhi last night, 28-year-old MCD sanitation worker Anil Kumar was brutally murdered with a knife. The crime occurred while Anil Kumar was on duty, raising serious questions about the safety of sanitation workers in the city.

Attack Captured on CCTV

According to initial information, Anil Kumar was standing near a garbage collection vehicle close to LBS Hospital. An unidentified assailant approached him and suddenly attacked him with a knife. CCTV footage shows the attacker first grabbing Anil by the collar and then mercilessly stabbing him multiple times. The assailant fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Approximately a minute and a half of CCTV footage of the entire incident has emerged, clearly showing the attacker's actions. The footage also shows some individuals observing the incident from a distance without intervening.

Outrage and Demands for Security

Upon receiving news of the murder, a large number of MCD sanitation workers gathered outside LBS Hospital. They protested, demanding the immediate arrest of the accused and justice for the family of the deceased Anil Kumar. The workers highlighted their dedication to keeping the city clean and expressed concern over the lack of attention to their safety. They warned of escalating their protests if swift action is not taken and also demanded appropriate compensation for the victim's family.

Police Investigation Underway; Family Suspects Conspiracy

Critically injured by the knife wounds, Anil Kumar was rushed to LBS Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The police have taken possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. Police officials stated that the motive behind the murder is not yet clear, and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the assailant based on CCTV footage and other evidence.

Meanwhile, Anil Kumar's family expressed deep grief and suspicion of a conspiracy. They reported being initially informed of an accident by the police over the phone, only to discover the truth upon reaching the scene. The family stated that Anil had no known enmities, making his targeting inexplicable. They have urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation.

AAP MLA Calls for Encounter

Reacting strongly to this heinous murder, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kuldeep Kumar stated that the incident is extremely serious and the culprit must not be spared. The MLA demanded that the brutal murderer be encountered to deter anyone from committing similar acts in the future. He assured the family of swift arrest of the accused and delivery of justice.

The police are currently attempting to identify the attacker with the help of CCTV footage. The motive for the murder and the reason for targeting Anil Kumar specifically will only be revealed after the assailant's arrest. This incident raises a concerning question about law and order in the city, particularly regarding the safety of daily wage workers, which requires serious attention from the administration.
