Pre-Navratri Sanitation Drive at Harrai Mata Temple
The Kareli Municipal Council organized a special sanitation campaign at the ancient Siddha Peeth Harrai Mata Temple premises in anticipation of the upcoming Navratri festival. Municipal officials and employees participated in the drive, dedicating their labor to clean and tidy the temple complex and its surrounding areas.
'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026' Initiative
This initiative is part of the 'Clean Kareli, Beautiful Kareli' mission and the ongoing 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026', which runs from September 17 to October 17. Given the expected large influx of devotees to the Harrai Mata Temple during Navratri, the municipality prioritized the cleanliness of the temple premises.
During the campaign, accumulated dirt, waste, and other debris were removed from the temple complex, ensuring a neat and orderly environment. The campaign aimed to make the temple clean and accessible for devotees and to foster a sense of awareness and responsibility among citizens regarding the cleanliness of public and religious sites.
Continuous Activities Under 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan'
As part of the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026', the Kareli Municipal Council is conducting various activities under the 'Swachhta Hi Seva Pakhwada' (Cleanliness is Service Fortnight). The primary goal is to actively engage citizens through sanitation drives, tree plantation, and public awareness programs across different parts of the city until October 17.
The voluntary labor drive at the Harrai Mata Temple on Wednesday was a significant component of this broader campaign. Participants not only contributed physically to the sanitation efforts but also pledged to make cleanliness an integral part of their daily routine and refrain from littering in public spaces.
Emphasis on Religious Site Cleanliness
To achieve the objective of 'Clean Kareli, Beautiful Kareli', the Municipal Council is consistently focusing on the cleanliness of public spaces, market areas, major routes, and especially religious centers. Cleaning ancient and important faith sites like the Harrai Mata Temple before Navratri exemplifies the confluence of service and devotion.
This ensures that devotees can perform their rituals in a clean and sacred atmosphere during the religious celebrations. The sanitation drive saw the presence of Sandeep Mamar, representative of the Municipal President, along with councilors Khalik Qureshi, Anand Soni, Ajay Agarwal, Chief Municipal Officer Shrikant Pater, and other municipal officials and employees.
All participants viewed this as an opportunity for service and urged local citizens to support the municipality's efforts in maintaining the cleanliness of religious and public places. The municipality has assured that programs related to sanitation and public awareness aimed at improving the city's order will continue throughout the campaign ending on October 17.
