Samarata Kalash Yatra for Sant Ravidas Reaches Damoh, Spreading Message of Social Unity
The Samarata Kalash Yatra, celebrating the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas, arrived in Damoh, aiming to foster social harmony.

Samarata Kalash Yatra Arrives in Damoh
The Samarata Kalash Yatra, organized to commemorate the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Maharaj, reached Damoh on Thursday. The primary objective of this procession is to unite all sections of society and disseminate Sant Ravidas Maharaj's message of equality, brotherhood, and social harmony to the masses.
Upon its arrival in Damoh, the procession received a grand welcome from Bharatiya Janata Party District President Shyam Shivhare, MP Rahul Singh Lodhi, along with party officials and workers. Subsequently, all participants proceeded to the Sant Ravidas temple in Bajaria Ward 6 for a ritualistic worship and to receive blessings.
Promoting Social Harmony
Through the Samarata Kalash Yatra, people are being urged to rise above social discrimination and resolve to build a united society. Speaking on the occasion, BJP District President Shyam Shivhare stated that Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Maharaj, through his life and thoughts, imparted an invaluable message of equality, brotherhood, and humanity to society.
He further added that this Samarata Kalash Yatra, being held on the occasion of Sant Ravidas's 650th birth anniversary, is not merely a religious event but a significant campaign spreading a broad message of social unity and harmony.
Shivhare emphasized that Sant Ravidas's thoughts remain equally relevant to society today, and we must resolve to build a discrimination-free and harmonious society by following his path.
National Level Initiative
The Samarata Sankalp Abhiyan and Kalash Vandan Yatra were initiated in Madhya Pradesh by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav to mark Guru Ravidas Maharaj's 650th birth anniversary. This Kalash Vandan Yatra commenced in every district of the state on August 20, 2026, carrying urns filled with sacred soil from Sant Ravidas's birthplace in Kashi.
The Bharatiya Janata Party is celebrating the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Ravidas Maharaj nationwide from July 29, 2026, to February 20, 2027, under the ongoing Samarata Sankalp Abhiyan to ensure Sant Ravidas's teachings reach every village. Meanwhile, the construction of a grand Sant Ravidas temple, costing ₹100 crore, is underway in Sagar, with its inauguration expected soon by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
