In Farrukhabad, workers of the Samajwadi Party (SP) held a strong protest on Tuesday, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The demonstration was organized on the call of the party's national leadership and led by district president Chandra Pal Singh Yadav.
The workers carried out a foot march from Bholepur to the statue of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar located on JNV Road. During the march, party leaders and workers chanted slogans against the Chief Election Commissioner, holding banners and placards.
Key issues such as the impartiality of democratic institutions and the protection of voters' rights were prominently raised during the event. The protestors expressed their anger by burning an effigy of the Election Commissioner.
Concerns Raised, Resignation Demanded
Following the conclusion of the march at the statue of Baba Saheb, speakers expressed concerns that maintaining the impartiality of democratic institutions and protecting voters' rights are of utmost importance. They questioned the impartiality of the current Chief Election Commissioner and demanded his resignation.
The peaceful demonstration concluded with the national anthem. A large number of office bearers and workers participated in this protest, including former MLA Ajit Katharia from Kaimganj, former MLA Urmila Rajput, former candidate Sarvesh Ambedkar, former district president Nadeem Farooqui, senior leaders Saral Dubey, Rashid Jamal Siddiqui, Harish Kumar, JP Verma, Vivek Singh Yadav, Jitendra Singh Yadav Siroli, Manoj Mishra, Rajan Yadav, Narendra Yadav, Bhola Yadav, Pushpendra Rajput, Saurabh Katiyar, Shashank Saxena, Ilias Masoori, Romit Saxena, Vimal Yadav, Rajat Krantikari, and Omprakash Sharma.
The workers vocally expressed their discontent and made their grievances clear regarding their demands.
