Rising Star Saksham Purohit Earns Ranji Trophy Call-up

Bhind district's promising young cricketer, Saksham Purohit, has been selected for the Madhya Pradesh Ranji Trophy team, sparking jubilation among sports enthusiasts in the district. Currently representing Madhya Pradesh in the Colonel C.K. Nayudu Trophy, Saksham impressed selectors with his exceptional talent, scoring consecutive centuries against Punjab.

Historic Achievement for Bhind Cricket

This remarkable performance has directly earned him a place in the main Ranji Trophy squad. This selection marks a significant achievement for Bhind, as it is the third consecutive year that a player from the district has been part of the Ranji Trophy team. Previously, Sumit Kushwaha in 2024 and Ramvir Singh Gurjar in 2025 attained this distinction.

A Testament to Dedication and Guidance

All three players – Saksham Purohit, Sumit Kushwaha, and Ramvir Singh Gurjar – have honed their cricketing skills under the tutelage of coach Ravi Shekhar Katare. Saksham, a resident of Jaura Brahman, hails from a family of government teachers. He has previously represented various age-group teams at the state level, even captaining the Under-16 Madhya Pradesh team in 2020.
