Holy Kalash Yatra for Saint Ravidas' 650th Birth Anniversary Reaches Mahoba Villages

Mahoba | August 12, 2026 - As part of the Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan (Social Harmony Pledge Campaign) to celebrate the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj, the holy Kalash Yatra carrying sacred soil from Seer Govardhan, Varanasi, reached the villages of Baghaura, Saguniya, Ajnar, and Mahuwabandh in the Mahoba district on Wednesday.

These villages accorded the yatra a grand welcome filled with devotion and enthusiasm, viewing it as a symbol of social harmony and goodwill. A large number of women participated in the Kalash Yatra, carrying pitchers on their heads while singing auspicious songs.

Devotees performed rituals to worship the kalash and pledged to spread Saint Guru Ravidas Maharaj's message of social equality and harmony to every household. This event significantly strengthened the spirit of unity and brotherhood within the local community.

Dissemination of Saint Ravidas' Messages

On this occasion, Satyendra Pratap Gupta, the in-charge of BJP Mandal Ajnar, shed light on the life of Sant Shiromani Ravidas and shared his thoughts. He emphasized that Saint Ravidas was a symbol of social equality and harmony, and his teachings remain relevant today.

Gupta called upon the villagers to follow the path shown by Saint Ravidas. The program saw the presence of hundreds of workers and villagers, including Block Head Sandeep Rajput, Mandal President Surendra Rajput, Mukesh Tripathi from Youth Morcha, General Secretaries Ankit Dubey and Ram Asre Pathak, Rajesh Rajput, Mandal Convenor Lalchand Sagar, Sector In-charge Dr. S. Pathak, Mandal Minister Ranu Tiwari, BJP leader Rajjoo Tiwari, and Booth President Akhilesh Tiwari.

All participants collectively ensured their involvement in this significant social harmony campaign.
