Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has revealed the harrowing details of the January 16 home invasion in which he was stabbed while protecting his youngest son, Jeh, and explained why he appeared so composed after leaving the hospital.

Appearing on Twinkle Khanna and Kajol’s show Two Much, Saif recounted the terrifying night when a burglar broke into his Mumbai residence. The actor, 50, was confronted with an intruder armed with knives inside his son Jeh’s room. “I rolled out of bed, barged into Jeh’s room in the dark, and saw this guy standing over his bed with a knife,” Saif said. The intruder reportedly slashed wildly, leaving cuts on both Jeh and his nanny.

Saif described the ensuing struggle: “I thought he was smaller than me, so I jumped on him. He went mad, he had two knives and started slashing all over me.” He credited Jeh’s nanny for intervening and pushing the attacker off him. The actor admitted to sustaining a nick in his spine during the fight. Despite the injury, he prioritized his children’s safety, comforting Taimur and Jeh before heading to the hospital.

At the hospital, Saif initially requested a stretcher but later clarified, “I could walk. It was painful, but the wheelchair was not required.” He explained that he wanted to project calm to the media and his fans, assuring everyone that he was recovering well. Twinkle Khanna noted that Saif’s mother, Sharmila Tagore, had suggested using a wheelchair, but the actor chose otherwise to signal resilience.
