Rs 60 Lakhs Stolen from Empty House on Raksha Bandhan, 27 Tola Gold and Cash Missing

Theft of Valuables Worth Crores in Shivpuri City

A sensational case of theft has emerged in Shivpuri city's Physical police station area, where unknown thieves burgled an empty house belonging to a contractor, making away with jewelry and cash worth lakhs of rupees. The thieves broke into three rooms, stealing valuables estimated to be worth around Rs 60 lakhs. This significant incident has created an atmosphere of fear among local residents.

The incident occurred at the residence of contractor Matadin Agarwal in Sanjay Colony. According to information, Matadin Agarwal and his wife Rashmi Agarwal had gone to their in-laws' house in Kanpur on August 28 to celebrate Raksha Bandhan. Upon returning home on Sunday night, four days later, they discovered that the main gate and the locks of three rooms inside the house were broken.

The sight inside the house left them stunned. The entire house was ransacked, and the door of the room housing a steel almirah, along with the almirah's locker, were found broken. The thieves not only stole jewelry but also made off with cash.

Heavy Loss of Jewelry and Cash Reported

Victim Rashmi Agarwal stated that the almirah contained approximately 27 tola of gold jewelry, including necklaces, bangles, and rings, along with about 4 kilograms of silver ornaments. Additionally, Rs 4 lakhs in cash, meant for ongoing construction work on the second floor of the house, was also kept securely in the almirah. The stolen jewelry is part of the family's ancestral property, holding significant emotional value.

Police Actively Investigating, Gathering Evidence

Upon receiving the information, the Physical police station team immediately arrived at the scene and inspected the incident. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police also summoned teams from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), dog squad, and fingerprint experts to the crime scene. These teams conducted a thorough investigation and collected crucial evidence.

The preliminary estimate by police officials suggests that the thieves conducted a well-planned reconnaissance before executing the burglary, and only proceeded after confirming that the house was empty. The Physical Station House Officer stated that a case has been registered against unknown thieves in this regard. The police are now attempting to identify the culprits by reviewing CCTV footage from nearby houses and main roads.

This major theft in the colony has raised questions about the security arrangements, causing widespread panic among local residents.
