Major Relief for Narsinghgarh Residents with New Bridge Approval

Residents of the Narsinghgarh assembly constituency are set to experience a significant improvement in connectivity following the official approval for the construction of a high-level bridge over the Parvati River. This crucial project, part of the Bairasia–Runaha–Narsinghgarh route, has received an allocation of Rs 24 crore, promising a lasting solution to the area's persistent transportation challenges.

The approval was formally communicated by the Minister of Public Works Department, Rakesh Singh, in a letter to Narsinghgarh MLA Mohan Sharma on September 2, 2026. This sanction brings much-needed relief to locals who have been struggling with severe connectivity disruptions due to the absence of a bridge.

End to Connectivity Obstacles

The lack of a bridge across the Parvati River had completely halted vehicular traffic, including both four-wheelers and two-wheelers. This isolation cut off connectivity between Narsinghgarh and surrounding areas like Runaha, Bairasia, Vidisha, and Nazirabad. Residents were forced to endure arduous journeys, often involving taking an auto to one side of the river, crossing on foot, and then catching a bus on the other side.

These connectivity issues had a detrimental impact on vital sectors such as education, employment, and trade, exacerbating the daily hardships faced by the community. The situation became even more critical during the monsoon season when the rising water levels of the Parvati River made the crossing perilous.

Project Sanctioned for Fiscal Year 2026-27

The Public Works Department has sanctioned the construction work for the fiscal year 2026-27. The new high-level bridge is expected to resolve all these long-standing problems and pave the way for smoother and more accessible transportation for the region's inhabitants.

Local residents have expressed their gratitude to the government and MLA Mohan Sharma for this significant development. The completion of this project is anticipated to not only alleviate daily difficulties but also accelerate the economic and social development of the region.
