Roadways Employee Arrested in Attack on Electricity Team
In a significant action following a life-threatening attack on an electricity department team during an investigation into power theft in Farrukhabad, police have arrested the main accused, roadways employee Subhash Chandra Ahirwar. The violent incident resulted in a serious hand injury to Junior Engineer (JE) Mukhtar Hussain, with X-ray reports confirming a fracture.
Attack Details and Investigation
The incident occurred on Monday at the residence of roadways employee Subhash Chandra Ahirwar, located on Loco Road. SDO Ajay Kumar and JE Mukhtar Hussain, along with their team, had arrived to verify a complaint of electricity theft. During this verification, the accused attacked the team.
JE Suffers Fracture, Strict Charges Filed
Following the attack, the JE association immediately met with the District Magistrate and ASP to demand the arrest of the accused. Acting on a tip-off, Fatehgarh police detained the main accused, Subhash Chandra, from Lohia Hospital. He was arrested as police prepared to take him for a medical examination. Fatehgarh Kotwal Vijay Singh stated that more stringent sections will be added to the FIR after the medical report confirmed the fracture. The main accused has been challaned.
Search for Son and Accomplices Underway
Police are currently searching for the accused's son, Rajat, and four other unidentified individuals involved in the incident. Raids are being conducted at potential hideouts to apprehend the remaining absconding accused as soon as possible.
Electricity Department Imposes Heavy Fine, Disconnection Initiated
In response to the attack, the electricity department has taken a stern stance. The department has issued a fine notice of 1,24,828 rupees to the accused roadways employee, Subhash Chandra. JE Mukhtar Hussain informed that along with the fine notice, the process to disconnect the accused's home electricity connection has also begun. Power supply to the premises will not be restored until the full fine amount is deposited.
