Road Safety Awareness Campaign Launched in Balrampur District, Enforcement Action Taken Against Violators

Comprehensive Road Safety Awareness and Enforcement Campaign

Balrampur District on August 20, 2026, conducted a comprehensive road safety awareness and enforcement special campaign to prevent road accidents and sensitize citizens to traffic rules. The campaign aimed to educate people on safe traffic practices at major intersections, routes, and public places across all tehsils of the district.

During the campaign, District Magistrate Dr. Vipin Kumar Jain and Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar were personally present at Veer Vinay Chowk to inform drivers and the public about the importance of adhering to traffic regulations. They appealed to drivers to strictly wear helmets while riding two-wheelers, use seat belts in four-wheelers, adhere to speed limits, avoid using mobile phones while driving, and refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol.

Enforcement Action for Traffic Violations

As part of this special campaign, enforcement actions, including issuing challans, were carried out against numerous vehicle drivers for violating traffic rules. This included driving two-wheelers without helmets, not wearing seat belts in four-wheelers, and operating vehicles without license plates.

Vehicle drivers were informed about the severe consequences of traffic rule violations, including the risks posed to their own lives and the lives of others. The importance of collective responsibility was emphasized, with the District Magistrate stating that road safety is a shared responsibility for every citizen.

Promoting Road Safety as a Public Movement

District Magistrate Dr. Vipin Kumar Jain highlighted that traffic rules are designed not just to avoid challans but to ensure the safety of oneself and others. He urged parents not to allow underage children to drive and to encourage every family member to follow traffic rules.

Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar assured that enforcement actions in the district would continue alongside awareness initiatives. Strict action will be taken against traffic violators as per regulations. He appealed to drivers to follow designated lanes and speed limits on roads and to give priority to ambulances and other emergency vehicles.

Similar campaigns were conducted by concerned officials in all tehsils of the district to raise awareness about road safety among drivers and the general public. The primary objective of this campaign is to transform safe driving practices into a public movement, thereby minimizing road accidents and fatalities.
