Rishi Galav University Launched in Gwalior: A Step Towards Implementing Education Policy 2020

University Inauguration and Administrative Setup

In a significant move towards the successful implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, the Madhya Bharat Shiksha Samiti has launched Rishi Galav University in Gwalior. The inauguration of this nascent educational institution was performed by the esteemed Chief Minister of the state, Dr. Mohan Yadav, on May 4, 2026. This initiative seeks to bring innovation to the education sector and operationalize the goals of the National Education Policy at the grassroots level.

Furthermore, the university's city office was inaugurated last month within the newly constructed building at the Madhav College campus. This office will serve as a central hub for the university's administrative activities, indicating a smooth progression in its establishment process.

University's Green Initiatives for a Sustainable Future

Rishi Galav University is spearheading a large-scale tree plantation drive under the 'Vriksh Utsav 2026' initiative on its campus. This campaign successfully saw the planting of over 5,000 saplings in just two hours, with active participation from distinguished citizens, heads of various institutions, and students. This endeavor is not only a crucial step in greening the university but also an effort to raise societal awareness about environmental conservation.

The tree plantation drive continues throughout August. Prominent citizens and various organizations are voluntarily participating by planting trees on the university premises. In one such instance, a team of 'karsevaks' led by Shri Mohan Singh Ji from Gurudwara Data Bandi Chhod planted over 150 saplings recently. This significant effort was supported by academicians and activists including the National Service Scheme Program Officer of Madhav College, Dr. Sanjay Pandey, NCC Officer Professor Mulayam Singh, Dr. Naresh Tyagi, and Raghavendra Chauhan, exemplifying excellent community participation.

Commitment to Sustainable Development

Professor Rajendra Bandil, President of the Madhya Bharat Shiksha Samiti, has pledged to continue the tree plantation work until the university campus is fully green. The collective efforts of all involved in fulfilling this commitment underscore the dedication to creating a sustainable and eco-friendly environment alongside the establishment of the university. This initiative aligns with the holistic development vision of the National Education Policy 2020, which emphasizes not only academic excellence but also social and environmental responsibility.
