Rewa District Promotes Healthy Lifestyles Through Sports Initiative
As part of the state-wide 'Distance from Drugs is Necessary 2.0' campaign by the Madhya Pradesh Police, Rewa district has organized various competitions. The initiative aims to keep youth away from drug addiction and connect them with sports and positive activities.
Inaugural Ceremony and Encouragement for Youth
The main event, held at the Rewa Sports Complex, saw Superintendent of Police Dr. Gurkaran Singh felicitate winners with prizes and certificates. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Singh urged the youth to abstain from social evils like drug abuse and integrate sports, education, and other positive pursuits into their lives.
He emphasized that addiction harms not only the individual but also their family and the entire community. Conversely, sports foster discipline, self-confidence, and a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Singh appealed to everyone to play an active role in building a drug-free society.
Sports Activities Across Police Stations and Colleges
In addition to the main event, sports activities and competitions were also organized at Thana Mangawan, Thana Govindgarh, and TRS College, Rewa. These programs witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of youth and students.
Police officials educated participants about the detrimental effects of drugs and advised them to engage in sports and inspire others to stay away from substance abuse.
