Shares of Reliance Power soared more than 14% on Friday, fueled by robust buying momentum and strong trading volumes, rebounding sharply from a recent support base. The Anil Ambani Group company’s stock jumped as much as 14.06% to ₹50.70 per share on the BSE in early trade.
Trading Activity Highlights
The rally was accompanied by exceptional volume, with approximately 6 crore shares changing hands — significantly higher than the one-week and one-month average of 2 crore shares.
Market analysts attributed the surge to technical factors, with the stock bouncing from a key support zone around ₹44, signaling renewed investor interest.
“Reliance Power was forming a base at ₹44 over the past week, and today’s sharp bounce could extend toward ₹56 in the near term. The recent lows around ₹44 remain crucial support,” said Rajesh Bhosale, Equity Technical and Derivative Analyst at Angel One.
Regulatory Clarification Boosts Sentiment
Earlier this week, Reliance Power addressed market concerns after SEBI issued a Show Cause Notice linked to Reliance Infrastructure Limited’s exposure in CLE Private Limited, citing alleged regulatory violations.
The company clarified in a regulatory filing dated October 6 that it had zero exposure to CLE Private Limited and would take appropriate legal steps.
“The Company has ZERO exposure to CLE Private Limited. The Company shall take appropriate steps in the matter, as legally advised,” Reliance Power stated.
This clarification eased investor worries about potential regulatory risks, contributing to the sharp rebound in share price.
