Chennai, Nov 10: Speculation over Ravindra Jadeja’s exit from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has intensified after his official Instagram account vanished on Monday, fuelling rumours of a potential high-profile trade ahead of the IPL 2026 season.
Jadeja, a cornerstone of CSK’s success — having won IPL titles in 2018, 2021, and 2023 — and briefly captained the side in 2022, is reportedly at the centre of a mega trade deal that could reshape both franchises.
According to multiple reports, CSK are in advanced talks with Rajasthan Royals (RR) for a swap involving Jadeja and RR captain Sanju Samson. The deal could also include England all-rounder Sam Curran, who may move to Rajasthan as part of the multi-player exchange.
If finalised, the move would mark one of the biggest trades in IPL history. For CSK, Samson is being seen as a future leader and a key figure as the franchise plans its transition beyond MS Dhoni.
However, Jadeja’s potential departure has left many fans unsettled. The all-rounder’s Instagram handle (@royalnavghan), known for regular posts about his cricketing life and love for CSK, has suddenly gone offline — a development that social media users quickly connected with the transfer buzz.
A senior CSK official, speaking , confirmed that talks are ongoing for Samson, while Rajasthan Royals management is evaluating the proposal before making a final decision.
Former cricketer Mohammed Kaif believes that MS Dhoni — who continues to have a significant influence on CSK’s planning — could approve Jadeja’s trade if it benefits the team’s long-term ambitions.
“If Jadeja has to be sacrificed for the team’s good, Dhoni will do it,” Kaif said. “His goal has always been to make CSK champions again. If Dhoni feels a change is needed, he’ll take the decision.”
Interestingly, Jadeja began his IPL journey with Rajasthan Royals, playing a key role in the franchise’s inaugural title win in 2008 under Shane Warne.
As the IPL trade window heats up, Jadeja’s future — and CSK’s post-Dhoni blueprint — could be heading for a major transformation.
