Ranveer Singh Preps for Don 3 Amid Dhurandhar Success; Kriti Sanon Joins Him for Action-Packed Sequel

Actor Ranveer Singh was spotted in public for the first time since the blockbuster success of Dhurandhar, which recently crossed the ₹500 crore mark at the Indian box office. Accompanied by wife Deepika Padukone at Mumbai airport, Ranveer appeared all smiles, taking a brief moment before diving into his next high-octane project.

The third instalment of Don, directed by Farhan Akhtar, had been announced in August 2023, with Ranveer stepping into the iconic role previously essayed by Shah Rukh Khan. While the film was initially slated to begin shooting in January 2025, scheduling conflicts caused delays. Speculation intensified after reports of Vikrant Massey’s exit as the antagonist, leading to rumours that Don 3 might have been shelved. However, sources have confirmed that the project is very much on track, with Ranveer already starting his action preparations.

“Ranveer is back to the game. After some scheduling conflicts, Don 3 is back on track. He will be seen performing heavy-duty action sequences, and prep began last week,” a source told News18.

The first shooting schedule is expected to commence late January to early February 2026, with portions to be filmed in Jeddah. Kriti Sanon, fresh off her hit Tere Ishq Mein, will play the female lead and reportedly engage in action sequences, reminiscent of Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ role in Don 2.

Vikrant Massey’s Return Possible

While Tamil actor Arjun Das was rumoured to replace Massey, talks with the actor have resumed. “Vikrant is interested, and the makers are figuring out his dates. The script is being tweaked keeping him in mind,” the source added.

Cameos and Nostalgia

Adding to the excitement, director Farhan Akhtar is reportedly planning cameo appearances by Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, marking their first onscreen reunion since Don 2 (2011). Discussions are also underway with Amitabh Bachchan and Zeenat Aman for special appearances, potentially setting up an epic crossover finale. Zeenat Aman had previously praised Ranveer on Instagram, writing, “Congratulations, Ranveer! May you find a worthy ‘jungly billi’ to your Don.”

With Ranveer Singh leading, Kriti Sanon joining as the female lead, and Farhan Akhtar returning to the director’s chair, Don 3 promises to reignite one of Bollywood’s most beloved action franchises, combining high-octane stunts, star-studded cameos, and nostalgic references for fans of the series.
