RAJASTHAN–UP HIT BY RAIN, SHIMLA–MANALI SEE SEASON’S FIRST SNOWFALL: Flights Disrupted, Srinagar–Jammu Highway Closed

A fresh Western Disturbance has changed weather conditions across North India, triggering widespread rain, snowfall and strong winds.

Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi witnessed late-night rainfall, bringing temperatures down sharply across multiple districts.

In the Himalayan states, Shimla, Manali, and higher reaches recorded the season’s first major snowfall, turning tourist spots white and impacting local movement.

The Srinagar–Jammu National Highway has been shut due to heavy snow, while several airports reported snow accumulation on runways, forcing multiple flight cancellations and delays.

Meteorologists expect the rain–snow spell to continue for the next 24–48 hours, with cold conditions likely to intensify.
