Railway Employee Robbed in Guna

Guna, September 3, 2026 - A robbery incident involving a railway employee has been reported in the Dharnavada police station area of Guna district. Babloo Meena (40), who works at Mahugadh railway station, fell victim to four unknown assailants while returning from duty.

The Incident

The incident occurred late last night near the underbridge at the Mahugadh railway crossing as Meena was heading towards the Guna railway colony. Four individuals on a motorcycle intercepted him, raising serious concerns about safety in the area. This happened as railway employees residing in the colony were returning home after work.

Robbery Details

According to Meena, as he passed the underbridge near the Mahugadh crossing, four assailants on a motorcycle suddenly appeared and surrounded him. They forcibly snatched his Vivo mobile phone, containing important contacts and data, a bag with essential books and stationery, and approximately 300 rupees in cash. Meena attempted to resist and retrieve his belongings but was outnumbered and overpowered.

Escape and Aftermath

The perpetrators skillfully used the darkness and the secluded nature of the area to make a swift escape on their motorcycle. The incident has caused significant fear and outrage among residents and railway employees in the vicinity. The Mahugadh underbridge area, often deserted, has become a vulnerable spot for criminal activities.

Calls for Improved Security

Residents have been demanding better police patrolling and street lighting in these poorly lit and isolated areas, which are becoming havens for anti-social elements. This is not the first time such criminal incidents have occurred in this locality.

Police Investigation Underway

Following the incident, Meena pursued the robbers for a considerable distance, but they disappeared into the darkness. A search of the surrounding area yielded no clues. Meena immediately filed a detailed report at the Ruthiyai outpost. The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and have intensified their investigation to identify and apprehend the absconding assailants.

Special Team Formed

The Ruthiyai outpost in-charge stated that a special police team has been formed given the seriousness of the incident. They are reviewing CCTV footage from cameras in the vicinity and have activated informers. The police have also appealed to residents to share any information they might have regarding the incident to aid in the swift apprehension of the criminals.

This incident has once again highlighted issues with the security system in the area, putting pressure on the police to take concrete steps against such offenders.
