Health Department Issues Notices to Alleged Quack Doctors

In Gaurzhamar, located in the Deori tehsil of Sagar district, Madhya Pradesh, the Health Department has issued notices to two individuals identified as Dr. T.K. Biswas and Dr. Ashwani Majumdar. They are accused of operating hospitals without valid medical qualifications, allegedly treating patients with injections and drips, including claims of performing surgeries.

The Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), Dr. Devesh Pateriya, taking serious cognisance of the matter, had directed the Block Medical Officer (BMO) of Deori, Dr. Pooja Parmar, to conduct an immediate investigation. During the BMO's inspection, both alleged doctors were found absent from their respective hospitals.

The department has now issued notices to both individuals, demanding a response within seven days. According to BMO Dr. Pooja Parmar, further legal action will be taken based on the received replies.

Villagers Raise Concerns, Demand Strict Action

Local villagers allege that these two individuals have been operating hospitals and treating patients for a long time without any valid qualifications. They also claimed that these alleged doctors are receiving protection from departmental officials, although these claims could not be independently verified.

The villagers have urged the district administration to conduct a thorough investigation into the registration of both hospitals and the academic degrees of the concerned doctors. Residents of the area are emphasizing that there should be no compromise with patient safety and that the health department must take strict action in accordance with the rules.

It will be crucial to see what concrete steps the health department takes to ensure the safety of patients' lives after the seven-day notice period expires.
