Public Spitting Now Costly as Municipality Imposes Fines

Municipality Cracks Down on Public Indecency

The Narmadapuram Municipality has intensified its special campaign aimed at maintaining cleanliness in the city. They are adopting a strict stance against individuals littering in public spaces.

First Fine Issued for Spitting

In a recent action, on Wednesday, a man named Sheikh Shafiq was fined ₹200 for spitting inside the municipality premises. He was also sternly warned against repeating such an offense.

Campaign Underway Citywide

This action is being carried out under the directives of Municipality President Neetu Mahendra Yadav and Chief Municipal Officer Vaibhav Deshmukh. Sanitation Inspector and Nodal Officer Anurag Tiwari stated that this special cleanliness campaign is ongoing in all city wards.

Raising Awareness and Enforcing Rules

The campaign focuses on educating citizens about the importance of hygiene while also penalizing those who litter in public areas. The municipality aims to increase public awareness and keep the city clean and healthy.

Combating Disease Through Cleanliness

Littering and spitting in public places, markets, and government complexes not only create filth but can also lead to the spread of various infectious diseases. To curb this risk, the municipality has implemented fines for such actions.

Continued Enforcement Expected

The fine imposed on Sheikh Shafiq is part of this larger initiative. Officials have clarified that such enforcement will continue, and no citizen will be permitted to litter in public spaces, encouraging residents to act as responsible citizens.
