Private Hospital Sealed in Farrukhabad After Death of Mother and Newborn
A private hospital in Farrukhabad was sealed after a mother and her newborn died under suspicious circumstances, leading to protests by the family.

Protests Erupt Following Suspicious Deaths
A major uproar occurred on Friday in the Kadri Gate police station area of Farrukhabad after the suspicious deaths of a mother and her newborn baby at a private hospital. The family staged a protest against the hospital administration, alleging severe medical negligence.
Acting on the information, a health department team promptly reached the spot and took immediate action by sealing the hospital. The incident has raised serious concerns about patient care in private healthcare facilities.
Allegations of Negligence and Mismanagement
According to details, Shivani, a 22-year-old resident of Siroili Nawada village in Nawabganj police station area and wife of Abhishek Prajapati, was admitted to the private hospital in Awas Vikas Colony on Thursday evening due to labor pains.
She gave birth to a baby girl around 4 AM on Friday. The family alleges that the newborn died shortly after birth, after which Shivani's condition continuously deteriorated.
Mother Succumbs After Critical Condition
The enraged family stated that doctors did not take necessary precautions during delivery and that there was gross negligence during the operation, leading to excessive bleeding for Shivani. They also accused the hospital of failing to provide timely and proper treatment even when her condition became critical, and alleged that the hospital staff disappeared from the scene.
When Shivani's condition worsened, her family attempted to take her to Kanpur in a private vehicle. Her condition deteriorated further near Uttaripura, where a local doctor declared her dead after examination.
Following this, the family returned to the hospital with the body and initiated protests.
Police Action and Investigation Underway
Upon receiving the information, the police from Kadri Gate police station arrived at the scene and sent the bodies of the mother and newborn to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for post-mortem examination.
The police attempted to initiate the 'panchnama' (inquest) proceedings, but the family insisted on filing a case against the hospital operators, leading to resistance.
As of the time of reporting, the 'panchnama' process had not been completed. The deceased's husband, Abhishek Prajapati, who works in a private company in Noida, mentioned that his marriage took place in April 2025.
Meanwhile, the deceased's cousin, Surjeet, alleged that the entire hospital staff fled the premises after the patient's condition worsened.
Questions Raised About Other Patients and ASHA Workers
During the incident, relatives of other patients admitted to the hospital also raised questions about the hospital's arrangements. Dharmveer, a resident of Madanpur police station area in Shahjahanpur district, stated that his sister, Sangeeta, is admitted to the hospital, but patients are trapped inside due to the hospital being sealed.
According to local residents, Shivani was admitted to this hospital through two ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers from the village. Both ASHA workers also left the scene after the incident.
The health department team sealed the hospital after conducting an on-site investigation. Police have stated that the entire matter is being investigated seriously. Further legal action will be taken based on the post-mortem report and the complaint filed by the family.
