Prabhas Takes Pay Cut After Adipurush Backlash, Agrees to Rs 100 Crore Fee for The Raja Saab

Prabhas, one of India’s highest-paid and most bankable stars, has reportedly agreed to take a significant pay cut for his upcoming movie, The Raja Saab. The actor, who is known for commanding around Rs 150 crore per film, will now earn Rs 100 crore for the project, marking a 33% reduction in his fee. This adjustment comes after the mixed response to his previous film, Adipurush, which was produced by the same team behind The Raja Saab.

The Impact of Adipurush's Failure

According to reports from Siasat, the pay cut is a direct result of Adipurush’s disappointing box office performance. Despite massive expectations and a huge budget of Rs 600–800 crore, the film underperformed, leading to negative reactions from both audiences and critics. The backlash was primarily due to its subpar visual effects, which many felt were unconvincing for such a high-budget project, and inappropriate dialogues that critics felt detracted from the film’s mythological themes.

Saif Ali Khan’s portrayal of Raavan also sparked controversy, with many questioning the authenticity of his character, and the overall reception left the film far from the success it had been expected to achieve. This failure appears to have prompted Prabhas and his team to re-evaluate his fee for The Raja Saab.

He’s shocked by eerie visions, leading to a haunted mansion and strange creatures. Sanjay Dutt's character is introduced by Boman Irani as an exorcist, psychiatrist, and hypnotist, with Prabhas preparing to confront him in what seems like an intense psychological showdown. The trailer concludes with a glimpse of Prabhas in an older avatar, hinting at his dual role as the evil grandfather, while Zareena Wahab plays his grandmother.
