The Madhya Pradesh Police Transport Research Institute (PTRI), Bhopal, recently hosted a two-day training session aimed at preventing road accidents, enhancing traffic management, and ensuring economic assistance and cashless treatment for accident victims through government schemes.
The training, held on August 20 and 21, 2026, was themed “Safe Driving Course”. It provided crucial information to police officers and staff, from the rank of Inspector down to driver constables.
Organized under the directives of Additional Director General of Police Shri Mohammad Shahid Absar, the primary objective was to reduce the number of road accidents, particularly fatalities. It also aimed to increase awareness about safe driving practices and familiarize police personnel with the process of providing timely government assistance to accident victims.

At the commencement of the training, Deputy Inspector General of PTRI Shri T.K. Vidyarthi detailed the analysis of road accidents, identification of their causes, and the formulation of effective action plans for prevention.
He highlighted the importance of various government schemes available for accident victims, including the Hit and Run cases, PM Relief Scheme, and Rahveer Scheme. He stressed that the police play a vital role in ensuring these schemes reach eligible beneficiaries.
