PM Modi's 'Dimagi Naxal' Remark: A 'Homeopathic Pill' for Opposition

Prime Minister Narendra Modi drew attention to the opposition during the centenary celebrations of Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) in Delhi on Saturday, employing his recent remark "dimagi Naxal" as a metaphor for political criticism.

Addressing a youth-centric audience, the Prime Minister explained his usage of the term, likening it to a "homeopathic pill" designed to reveal the true nature of his critics. He asserted that, much like in homeopathic treatment where symptoms can initially worsen, his "pill" prompted opposition leaders to self-expose.

"You may have heard my speech from Red Fort. I gave a homeopathic pill from the Red Fort - dimagi Naxal. According to the principles of homeopathy, when you begin homeopathic treatment, the disease initially gets worse. That is the nature of homeopathy."

PM Modi elaborated on this analogy, stating that the immediate reaction to his "dimagi Naxal" comment led to a flurry of opposition figures emerging, allowing the public to witness what he described as their "true colours" and the extent of the "illness" they promote.

Vision for a Developed Nation

The Prime Minister’s address focused on inspiring the younger generation with a vision for a developed India. He encouraged students to reflect on past challenges and how his government has navigated national crises.

He highlighted the significance of understanding the nation's journey, suggesting that the ease with which current progress might appear belied underlying complexities. PM Modi urged the students to look back at historical events to appreciate the scale of challenges overcome.

Reflecting on Past Crises

As an example of past difficulties, Prime Minister Modi referenced the Kedarnath disaster in 2013. He described the government's response at the time as being "shaken" and lacking clear direction.

This comparison served to underscore his narrative of effective governance and crisis management under his leadership, contrasting it with what he implied were inadequate responses in the past. The event at SRCC provided a platform for the Prime Minister to connect with students on themes of national development and historical perspective.
