PM Modi to Lead Grand Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Celebrations at Ekta Nagar on Sardar Patel’s 150th Birth Anniversary

National Unity Day to Showcase ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’

The 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and the architect of national integration, will be commemorated with unprecedented grandeur at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat on October 31, 2025.

Announcing the details, State Minister and Spokesperson Jitu Vaghani said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the celebrations, which will span October 30 and 31, under the theme “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”

For the first time, the event will feature a Republic Day-style parade, 10 cultural tableaux, and multiple public engagements celebrating unity, development, and diversity.

Republic Day-Style Parade and Cultural Showcase

The highlight of this year’s Rashtriya Ekta Diwas will be a grand parade comprising 16 contingents from central armed police forces and state police units. Personnel from BSF, CISF, ITBP, CRPF, SSB, and NCC, along with police contingents from Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Assam, Odisha, Kerala, and Maharashtra, will participate.

The parade will also feature 10 theme-based tableaux representing the achievements and cultural heritage of various Indian states. A Heralding Team of 100 members in traditional attire and musical bands will lead the march, while Operation Sindoor medal winners and Shaurya Chakra awardees will join the procession in open jeeps.

“This year’s celebration will be both historic and inspirational — honouring the Iron Man of India while reflecting the country’s unity amid diversity,” Minister Vaghani said.

PM Modi to Inaugurate ₹1,219 Crore in Development Projects

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth ₹1,219 crore, symbolising Gujarat’s growing role in India’s development vision.

Key projects include:

• Museum of Royal Kingdoms of India – ₹367 crore

• Birsa Munda Bhavan – ₹303 crore, dedicated to the tribal freedom leader

• Additional infrastructure and public works projects worth ₹519 crore to be inaugurated and ₹700 crore to be initiated.

The Prime Minister will also unveil a commemorative coin and postal stamp honouring Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary and flag off electric buses as part of Ekta Nagar’s sustainable mobility initiative.

Floral Tributes and Cyclothon Launch

On October 31, PM Modi will offer floral tributes at the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue and a global symbol of unity.
The event will be followed by the launch of a Cyclothon curtain-raiser at the Dam View Point, marking the beginning of a two-week nationwide event from November 1 to 17. The main Cyclothon will feature participants from across India, organised in partnership with the Gujarat Sports Department.

Future Bureaucrats to Join National Unity Observance

In a special addition this year, around 660 trainee IAS officers from the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) will attend the celebrations as part of their national orientation programme.
Prime Minister Modi will address the young officers, encouraging them to carry forward Sardar Patel’s vision of nation-building and administrative integrity.

The 2025 Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations, marking his 150th birth anniversary, are expected to draw dignitaries, security personnel, students, and citizens from across India, turning Ekta Nagar into a national epicentre of unity and pride.
