Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a series of youth-focused initiatives today at 11 am at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, aimed at boosting education, skill development, and entrepreneurship across India, with a total investment of over Rs 62,000 crore.
PM-SETU: Upgrading Industrial Training Institutes
A major highlight of the event will be the upgradation of more than 1,000 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) under the Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs (PM-SETU) scheme, a centrally sponsored programme with an investment of Rs 60,000 crore.
The event will also feature the fourth National Skill Convocation, where 46 All India toppers from ITIs under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will be felicitated, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision of empowering youth through skill development.
Vocational Skill Labs for Students Across India
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate 1,200 Vocational Skill Labs set up in 400 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and 200 Eklavya Model Residential Schools across 34 states and union territories. These labs aim to provide students, including those from remote and tribal areas, with practical training in 12 high-demand sectors such as IT, automotive, agriculture, electronics, logistics, and tourism.
Focus on Bihar’s Youth
Several initiatives will specifically target youth in Bihar:

Mukhyamantri Nishchay Swayam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana: The revamped scheme will provide a monthly allowance of Rs 1,000 to five lakh graduates for two years, along with free skill training opportunities.

Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme: Relaunched to provide education loans up to Rs 4 lakh per student. Over 3.2 lakh students have already benefited, with loans totaling Rs 7,880 crore disbursed.
NIT Patna Campus Inauguration
Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the new campus of NIT Patna, designed for 6,500 students. The campus will feature:

Regional Academic Centre for Space, in collaboration with ISRO

Innovation and Incubation Centre, which has already supported nine start-ups
These initiatives aim to empower India’s youth with skills, education, and entrepreneurial opportunities, bridging gaps in infrastructure and fostering innovation across the country.
