PM Modi Sets Sights on Hosting 2036 Olympics and Developing India by 2047

'Khelo India Dialogue' and 'Sports Talk with PM Modi' Connects Youth with Prime Minister
On the occasion of National Sports Day, the Government of India's Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, along with the Regional Directorate of the National Service Scheme (NSS) in Bhopal, organized a 'Khelo India Dialogue' and 'Sports Talk with PM Modi' youth connect program at the Government Home Science Postgraduate College in Narmadapuram.
This event featured a live virtual interaction between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the youth and athletes. In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized the creation of a healthy, disciplined, and sports-oriented nation. He highlighted his vision of placing the aspirations of the youth at the center of the country's development agenda and motivated athletes to excel.
During the event, Prime Minister Modi also presented ambitious goals for India to host the 2036 Olympic Games and to build a developed India by 2047. The program at the Government Home Science College in Narmadapuram was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Mrs. Maya Narolia as the chief guest. She addressed the attendees, who also included Municipal Council President Mrs. Neetu Mahendra Yadav, Mr. Piyush Sharma, Mrs. Sandhya Thapak, Mrs. Naina Soni, college Principal Dr. Sangeeta Ahirwar, and NSS District Organizer Dr. Harsha Chachane on the dais.
Convergence of Sportsmanship and National Development
The program commenced with the worship of Goddess Saraswati, the lighting of lamps, and garlanding the portrait of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. Following this, the guests were welcomed and felicitated.
Subsequently, the live broadcast of the 'Sports Talk with PM Modi' youth connect program was shown, which was watched with rapt attention by the college fraternity and the distinguished guests. Dr. Sangeeta Ahirwar, the college Principal, elaborated on the significance of this event in her address. She stated that such programs provide youth with an opportunity to directly connect with eminent athletes, Members of Parliament, MLAs, and other public representatives.
She further added that this initiative offers a national platform for youth and athletes to showcase their talents. The Principal also informed about the honoring of athletes who have brought laurels to the district in various sports. This national platform allows youth to exhibit their talent and gain recognition at the national level.
Emphasis on Athlete Encouragement and Government Support
Chief guest Mrs. Maya Narolia, in her address, underscored the importance of performing well and the spirit of victory in sports. She encouraged young athletes by citing examples of players like Vivek Sagar, Aadhya Tiwari, and Harshita Tomar.
Mrs. Narolia emphasized that if the youth are interested in sports, the government will provide them with full support. She praised the college's female students who have brought pride to the district in the fields of NCC, NSS, and sports. She also mentioned the organization of traditional sports and conveyed the message 'If you play, you will flourish' ('Khelouge toh Khilouge'), stating that a state's identity can be shaped by its athletes.
She also referred to the government facilities being provided to athletes and affirmed the government's commitment to promoting sports. She added that not only modern sports but also traditional sports, which are an integral part of our cultural heritage, are being encouraged.
During the program, all attendees took an oath for drug de-addiction, a significant step towards building a healthy society.
Honoring Sporting Talents
The program was expertly managed by Sports Officer Dr. Dharmendra Singh, while NSS District Organizer Dr. Harsha Chachane delivered the vote of thanks.
On this occasion, outstanding athletes from the college and Narmadapuram, along with district sports coaches Baktavar Khan, Jaysingh Bhadauria, Oscar Moses, Roshni Sonkar, and Mahendra Panchaliya, were honored. Mr. Chandrashekhar Prasad from the Sports Authority of India (SAI) was also felicitated at the event.
These honors symbolized the tireless efforts and dedication of the athletes and coaches who have made significant contributions to the field of sports. The event was attended by Dr. G.C. Pandey, Dr. Pushpa Dubey, Dr. Shruti Gokhale, Dr. Vaishali Lal, Dr. Rashmi Shrivastava, Dr. Sandhya Rai, Dr. Ragini Sikarwar, Dr. C.S. Raj, Dr. Durgesh Teli, Mr. R.K. Chokeykar, Mr. Premkant Katangkar, Mr. Nitesh Pal, Ms. Kajal Bathre, Ms. Raksha Badkade, Dr. Manisha Tiwari, Dr. Vijaya Dewaskar, Dr. Nisha Richhariya, Dr. Kirti Dixit, Dr. Reena Malviya, Mr. Ajay Tiwari, Mr. Shailendra Tiwari, Mrs. Preeti Thakur, Shweta Verma, Ankita Tiwari, Devendra Saini, Shubham Bhadre, Pooja Goswami (Nodal Officer My Bharat), college staff, athletes, NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, and other female students. Their presence enhanced the dignity of the program and inspired the youth towards sports.
The program concluded with the National Anthem, further deepening respect for national unity and sportsmanship.
