Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Kerala on Friday, said that a “developed Kerala is crucial for the vision of a developed India”, as he flagged off three Amrit Bharat Express trains and an additional passenger service dedicated to the state.

Addressing a large gathering, the Prime Minister highlighted Kerala’s role in India’s growth path, noting that the state’s human resources, global connectivity, and cultural influence make it a “natural partner” in the country’s development drive.

New trains to boost connectivity across Kerala

The Prime Minister inaugurated:

• Three Amrit Bharat Express trains designed for faster, more comfortable intercity travel

• One new passenger train allocated specifically for Kerala routes

Officials from the Railway Ministry stated that the new trains will reduce travel time, improve regional connectivity, and support Kerala’s high daily commuter volume.

Multiple development projects launched

PM Modi also unveiled a range of projects across urban development, healthcare, water management, digital services, and transportation.

These include upgrades to:

• Public infrastructure

• Drinking water systems

• Mobility and logistics corridors

• Digital service delivery

Government officials said these projects are aimed at strengthening Kerala’s “future-ready infrastructure,” enabling job creation, faster public services, and better quality of life.

Modi highlights Kerala’s contribution to national growth

The Prime Minister said Kerala’s people, especially youth and professionals working across the world, have played a key role in shaping India’s global image.

He emphasised that India's progress will accelerate only when states like Kerala expand opportunities in industry, tourism, technology, and transport.
