Pawan Singh Receives Threats Allegedly Linked to Lawrence Bishnoi Gang for Associating With Salman Khan

Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh has allegedly been threatened by unidentified callers claiming to be members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, warning him against sharing the stage or screen with actor Salman Khan. The threats have prompted a complaint with the Mumbai Police.

Police Confirm Complaint

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 9) Dixit Gedam confirmed on Monday that the police have received a complaint application.
“An appropriate action will be taken following an inquiry,” the DCP said.

The complaint was filed by Singh’s manager at Oshiwara Police Station, who reported receiving multiple calls from a person claiming gang affiliation.

Threatening Calls and Extortion Attempt

According to police officials:

• The manager has been receiving threatening messages since Saturday, targeting Pawan Singh.

• The caller allegedly warned that Singh must not work with or appear alongside Salman Khan, or he would face “severe consequences.”

• Another member of Singh’s team has also received similar calls.

• The caller has reportedly been demanding money, indicating an extortion angle.

• The manager has requested police protection.

Pawan Singh recently appeared on the Salman Khan–hosted reality series Bigg Boss, making the warning more alarming for the actor’s team.

Context: Ongoing Threats Linked to the Bishnoi Network

Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, accused in the murder of Punjabi singer-politician Sidhu Moosewala, is currently lodged in Sabarmati Jail (Gujarat) in a drugs case.

The Bishnoi group’s hostility towards Salman Khan traces back to the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, as the Bishnoi community worships the animal.

The gang’s activities have been under heightened scrutiny:

• Ex-minister Baba Siddique was believed to have been killed at Bishnoi’s behest in October 2024.

• Lawrence’s brother Anmol Bishnoi—suspected to have orchestrated the April 2024 firing at Salman Khan’s residence and involved in Moosewala’s murder—was recently deported from the US and taken into NIA custody.

Investigation Underway

Mumbai Police are examining the call records and verifying the identity of the caller. Security arrangements for Pawan Singh may be strengthened pending the inquiry.
