Parashuram Seva Samiti Submits Memorandum to President Demanding Economic Reservation

Demand for Economic Reservation and UGC Draft Review

The Uttar Pradesh Parashuram Seva Samiti submitted a memorandum to the President on Monday, demanding the implementation of economic reservation and a reconsideration of the UGC's draft regulations. The delegation, led by the Samiti's State President Dr. Sushil Samrat, presented the memorandum to Additional Magistrate Rakesh Kumar in Etawah.

The memorandum advocates for ensuring equal opportunities for all citizens in education and employment. It specifically calls for the immediate withdrawal of the UGC Draft Regulations-2025 and a review of the proposed reservation amendments. The Samiti argues that policies related to education and employment should align with the spirit of Articles 14, 15, and 16 of the Constitution, which uphold the right to equality.

Advocacy for Equal Opportunities for Economically Weaker Sections

The Samiti prominently raised its demand for implementing reservation based on economic criteria. They believe that the economically weaker sections of society should receive adequate representation in educational and employment opportunities. The delegation urged the government to engage in extensive consultations on all aspects of the reservation system and make policy decisions that consider the interests of various societal segments.

State President Dr. Sushil Samrat clarified that the Samiti's objective is not to oppose the rights of any community but to ensure equal opportunities and a just system for the economically disadvantaged. He emphasized that equality of opportunity in education and employment is a crucial requirement for a democratic system.

Prominent Figures Present During Memorandum Submission

Several key figures were present during the submission of the memorandum. These included Anil Dubey (Patron), Vinay Kumar Dwivedi (State General Secretary), KK Tripathi (State In-charge of Ex-Servicemen Cell), Sarvesh Kumar Sharma, Rajendradev Dubey (State Treasurer), Gopal Ji Mishra, Anshul Pandey (District President of Advocate Cell), Dharmendra Dubey, Raj Tiwari (Youth District President), and Gopal Mishra, along with other office bearers and activists of the Parashuram Seva Samiti.

The Samiti's representatives expressed hope that the central government would seriously consider their demands and take necessary steps in the interest of the economically weaker sections.
