Shares of Orkla India are attracting strong investor interest in the grey market, with indications pointing to a 10% premium ahead of the company’s initial public offering next week.
According to Investorgain and other grey market trackers, Orkla India shares are trading at around ₹70 above the issue price, signaling a potential listing gain of approximately 9.6% for investors.
IPO Details and Price Band
Orkla India has set a price band of ₹695-730 per share for its ₹1,667 crore IPO, which will be open for subscription from October 29 to October 31. The offering is structured as a pure offer-for-sale, meaning all proceeds from the issue will go to selling shareholders, with no fresh equity being raised by the company.
The subscription process for anchor investors is scheduled for October 28, just a day before the public offering begins.
At the top end of the price band, Orkla India’s market valuation would approach ₹10,000 crore, underscoring the strong appetite for the company’s shares among institutional and retail investors alike.
Market Implications
The grey market premium reflects robust demand for Orkla India’s IPO and investor confidence in the company’s growth prospects. Analysts note that a high GMP often signals strong listing performance, which could attract more retail participation during the public subscription phase.
Ramesh Iyer, equity analyst at Capital Markets Advisory, said: “A 10% grey market premium suggests positive sentiment around Orkla India, particularly as investors look for stable, FMCG-linked companies with consistent earnings and strong brand presence.”
