Oppo has officially confirmed the India launch date for its next-generation Reno 15 smartphone lineup. Set to debut on January 8, the new series brings a renewed focus on advanced portrait photography, AI-powered imaging, and high-end video recording capabilities.
The Reno 15 series will expand Oppo’s mid-premium smartphone portfolio in India and arrives at a time when camera innovation has become a key differentiator in the competitive Android market.
Three Models Coming to India
Oppo has confirmed that the Reno 15 series will include three smartphones:
Oppo Reno 15 Pro 5G
Oppo Reno 15 Pro Mini 5G
Oppo Reno 15 5G
According to Oppo India’s official announcement, all three devices will debut together, with full pricing and availability details to be revealed at the launch event.
Camera-Centric Design Takes Centre Stage
Oppo is positioning the Reno 15 series as a major leap forward in mobile imaging. The company has officially confirmed new camera hardware paired with updated AI-driven software tools aimed at improving portraits and video recording.
Reno 15 Pro & Pro Mini: Flagship-Level Camera Hardware
Both the Reno 15 Pro 5G and Reno 15 Pro Mini 5G will feature a triple rear camera system consisting of:
200MP primary camera
50MP telephoto portrait camera with 3.5x optical zoom
50MP ultra-wide camera with a 100-degree field of view
Oppo says the telephoto lens is optimised for portrait photography, while new tone-balancing technology dynamically adjusts lighting and colours based on ambient conditions. The phones will also support enhanced group photo processing, a feature Oppo has highlighted as part of its AI imaging push.
Advanced Video Capabilities Across Cameras
Oppo has confirmed that both Pro models will support 4K HDR video recording at up to 60fps across all cameras — including front, main, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses. This places the Reno 15 Pro series among a limited set of smartphones offering uniform high-resolution video across multiple cameras.
Additional video features include:
Electronic image stabilisation (EIS)
Optical image stabilisation (OIS) on select lenses
Dual-view video recording
Ability to capture still photos while recording video
Dual conversion gain (DCG) video support on the main camera for improved dynamic range in difficult lighting
AI Editor 3.0 and Smarter Imaging Tools
The Reno 15 lineup will debut AI Editor 3.0, Oppo’s updated image and video editing suite. Confirmed features include:
AI Portrait Glow for enhanced facial lighting
Motion photo editing tools
Improved colour and exposure optimisation powered by on-device AI
These features are expected to be available across all three models, though some advanced capabilities may remain exclusive to the Pro variants.
