Old Grudges Ignite Violent Clash in Kumbhraj, Half Dozen Injured

Kumbhraj, September 5, 2026 – A fierce brawl broke out in the Kumbhraj police station area of the district between two groups from the same community due to an old enmity. The violent confrontation involved the extensive use of bricks, stones, and sticks, resulting in over half a dozen injuries, including women and children.

The police have registered cases against both parties based on their complaints and have initiated an investigation. The incident occurred in Mogiya Gali, Ward Numbers 06 and 07 of Kumbhraj, where a long-standing dispute between two factions of the same community escalated into violence.

The situation on the ground was so severe that the police, upon arrival, had to work hard to pacify both sides. The first party alleges they were attacked after their path was blocked.

First Party's Allegation: Attacked After Path Blocked

Harisingh Sain (28), a resident of Ward 06, Kumbhraj, who filed the complaint for the first party, stated that he was going to the market for groceries in the afternoon. At that time, in Mogiya Gali, the accused Chandabai Sain, Bhagwan Sain, Manjit Sain, Sunita Sain, Babulal Sain, and Sapna Sain started hurling abuses, citing an old grudge.

When Harisingh protested, the accused attacked him with bricks and sticks. Harisingh sustained severe injuries to his head, rib, and hand, with bleeding from his head. His brother, Nandu Sain, who came to intervene, was also injured by a brick thrown by the accused. Eyewitnesses Pooran Meena and Lekhraj Meena attempted to mediate between the two parties.

Second Party's Claim: Beaten Inside Home, Threatened

Meanwhile, Chandabai Sain (60), a resident of Ward 07, the complainant from the second party, arrived at the police station with her family and filed a counter-complaint. She alleged that she has an old dispute with her neighbor, Rajkumar Sain. Due to this old enmity, in the afternoon, Hari Sain, Nandu Sain, Vijaykumar Sain, and Rajkumar Sain came outside her house and started abusing them.

When they were told to stop, the accused allegedly entered the house and severely beat Chandabai, her daughter-in-law Sapna, Sunita, her son Bhagwan Sain, and grandchildren Manjit, Yash, Kirti, and Tejaswini. During the assault, Sunita fell into a drain, while Kirti and Tejaswini sustained injuries to their heads and foreheads. The accused also threatened to kill them before leaving.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Kumbhraj police became active. The police have registered a cross-FIR based on the reports submitted by both parties. All injured individuals have been sent for medical examination to the local hospital, where their treatment is ongoing. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, and further action will be taken based on the facts.
