Senior Citizens Honored in Nougaon on International Day of Older Persons

On the occasion of International Day of Older Persons, October 1, 2026, a dignified honor ceremony was organized at the Nougaon Municipal premises. Senior citizens were honored in the presence of distinguished guests, public representatives, and citizens of the town.

The event saw the participation of regional MLA Kamakhya Pratap Singh, Municipal President Anup Tiwari, former president Anjul Saxena, and Mrs. Abhilasha Shivhare, along with all councilors and aldermen. All invited elderly guests present on the stage were honored with Aarti and Vandan.

Administrative officers, police personnel, prominent citizens, and media representatives also participated in the program. During the ceremony, MLA Kamakhya Pratap Singh and Municipal President Anup Tiwari presented tiffin boxes as gifts to all honored elderly individuals. This initiative served as a gesture of respect and gratitude towards senior citizens.

MLA Announces Dedicated Space for the Elderly

In his address, MLA Kamakhya Pratap Singh made a significant announcement. He stated that a special venue for the elderly will be constructed in Nougaon town. This proposed site will be equipped with all necessary facilities and will be fully prepared to cater to the needs of the elderly.

All senior citizens present expressed their joy and welcomed this announcement with applause. At the conclusion of the program, Municipal President Anup Tiwari expressed his gratitude to all the guests, which was met with a round of applause from the attendees.

Successful Event Organization

The efforts of Municipal Engineer Dharmendra Choubey, Revenue Inspector Vishwajit Singh Chauhan, Revenue Sub-Inspector Kailash Richhariya, and all revenue employees were commendable in making this event a success. All on-duty staff provided active cooperation in the smooth conduct of the program.

The formal conclusion of the program was done by the Municipal President, after which attendees praised the arrangements. This event was grandly celebrated this year, as it is annually.
