Akshay, another worker, pointed to higher wages in Gurugram, stating, "Companies in Gurugram have started paying their workers Rs 20,000 a month. We are getting Rs 10,000 and sometimes Rs 1,000 gets deducted."

Ankur Kumar emphasized the issue of pay parity, asking, "What is the point of working in big cities if there is no pay parity? We are being exploited by the system. Once we started raising our voices, we were met with violence. We want the government to take steps for our benefit."

Government Response and Action

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath acknowledged the workers' demands, stating that industries must adhere to labor laws. However, he also directed authorities to take strict action against those instigating the unrest.

Adityanath cautioned against a "conspiracy to revive almost-dead Naxalism." He has instructed the state labor department to engage in discussions with local authorities and industrial units.
