The National Medical Council (NMC) has withdrawn the Letter of Permission granted to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence (SMVDIME) to run an MBBS course for the 2025–26 academic session, citing major deficiencies uncovered during regulatory scrutiny. The decision was taken late Tuesday after complaints prompted a surprise inspection.
