Deworming Campaign Kicks Off in Balrampur

Balrampur | August 10, 2026 - The National Deworming Day campaign was launched in Balrampur on August 10, 2026, with a ceremony held at City Montessori Inter College. The initiative was jointly inaugurated by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Mukesh Kumar Rastogi and the representative of the President of Adarsh Nagar Palika Parishad, Balrampur, DP Singh Bais.

Objective: Protecting Children from Worm Infections

The primary goal of this campaign is to protect children and adolescents aged 1 to 19 years from worm infections. These infections can lead to serious health issues, including malnutrition, anemia, and impaired physical and mental development, particularly in children.

As part of the campaign, all children within the targeted age group were administered Albendazole tablets, an effective medication for treating and preventing worm infections. Officials emphasized the dangers of worm infections and the importance of this medicine for the comprehensive health of children.

Significance of the Deworming Campaign

Attendees included Additional Chief Medical Officer Anil Kumar Chaudhary, A.K. Shukla, Meenakshi Chaudhary, National Adolescent Health Programme Manager Sitanshu Rajat, Akhilesh Srivastava, Dr. Mohsin Siddiqui, and from the urban area, Dr. Himanshu Kumar Srivastava and Pharmacist Sameer Ahmed Siddiqui.

The presence of these officials provided strong support for the campaign and ensured its smooth execution. K.P. Yadav, Principal of City Montessori Inter College, managed the program. The campaign was successfully initiated by administering Albendazole tablets to the school's students, demonstrating the department's commitment to children's health. The school management also played an active role in this health initiative, ensuring easy access to medication for the children.
